What is SAT II MATH LEVEL 1 TEST
SAT is a college board trade mark testing system. There are two types of SAT tests, SAT (SAT General) and SAT Subject Test ( SAT II). SAT Subject test examines the test takers in 5 areas which are Mathematics , Science , English , History and Languages. The complete list of subjects is available on college board official website. SAT Mathematics is divided into two levels , Math Level 1 and Math Level 2. (What is the difference between these two ,you can read it here later).
Who Can Take SAT II MATHEMATICS LEVEL 1 TEST
Anyone can take the SAT Math Level 1 test if the person has prepared the topics mentioned below. But it is recommended for Grade 10 to Grade 12 students. But if some student is extra genius in mathematics and really like solving complex mathematics problems then he/she can appear in SAT Math test.
CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY
There is no particular criteria or eligibility required by the college board like which grade students can take SAT Math Level 1 test. The only requirement is to cover the SAT Math Level 1 course content. After studying/finishing the test topics you can appear in SAT MATH Level 1 test. You just need to pay fees and then you can appear in the test. What are the requirements on test day I’ll explain this shortly. (I’ll explain the whole process from registration to sitting in the exam in separate post.)
The test consists of 50 multiple-choice questions and is one hour long. The scoring of the Math Level 1 test is based on a 200- to 800-point scale, similar to that of the math and verbal sections of the SAT. You receive one point for each correct answer and lose one-quarter of a point for each incorrect answer. You do not lose any points for omitting a question. In addition to your scaled score, your score report shows a percentile ranking indicating the percentage of students scoring below your score.
The Level 1 examination tests material that covers the following topics:
• Algebra (30%)
• Geometry (plane Euclidean, three-dimensional, coordinate) (38%)
• Basic Trigonometry (8%)
• Algebraic functions (12%)
• Elementary statistics (probability, counting problems, data interpretation, mean, median, and mode) (6%)
• Miscellaneous topics (logic, number theory, arithmetic, geometric
